We all know what the Moore Tornado is all about. Moore is in Oklahoma, where they had a horrible tragedy with a tornado. That’s what made us build a new city for a new town. It was very sad. It happened in 2013 and it killed 24 people. It’s still fresh in our minds. And this new city is called Moore.

When the tornado came through Moore, we thought we were going to die. There was a big storm coming. And it was dark and we couldn’t see anything. We just knew it was getting worse and worse. We had to evacuate and that was it. My brother said it was going to be OK.

The city of Moore, Oklahoma, was established in 1906 by the Oklahoma Land Rush, which gave land west of the Mississippi River to settlers. At first, the new town was called “Moore’s Landing,” but later became known as Moore. Moore was named after a railroad executive from the east who died during the construction of the first rail line into Oklahoma. The city was incorporated in 1907 and became the county seat in 1918. During World War II, Moore was the headquarters of the 77th Infantry Division, the first all-black division to fight in a major war. The city was devastated by a massive tornado on May 3, 2013.

I was out shopping with my mom when I heard on the news that a tornado had hit Moore, Oklahoma. We decided to go home as fast as we could. When we got home, I heard my brother talking on the phone. He said that he and the kids were in a shelter and that they had seen the tornado. My brother also told me that it wasn’t as bad as what had happened a few years ago when there were so many fatalities. He said it was OK now. He didn’t know what was going to happen next. We all stayed in our house for the night and did not go outside. The next day, we went to work as usual.

When we were looking for a place to move to, we didn’t know that we would be in a town that was destroyed by a tornado. We had no idea that a tornado would destroy our house. We didn’t have any problems with our house being damaged because we were ready for a storm. We were preparing for a storm in the form of having extra supplies. We had enough supplies to last us for a while. Our car was in the garage, and we had food and water. That was about it. It was all the storm could have taken away. Next town is Norman, OK.

As we were walking outside, we realized that the tornado had hit the whole area. There was so much damage, and so many people had to be rescued.
